THERM-O-TYPE NSF A3+ with Astro Feeder. The NSF A3+ can be configured to
operate with an Astro envelope feeder. Customers running the Astro/NSF
A3+ have been operating in the "manual" mode, as no provisions had been
made to interface the machines electronically. THERM-O-TYPE now offers
customers the ability to configure the NSF A3+ so the Astro feeder
attachment can be operated in the "automatic" mode.
This is a significant improvement for customers. Operating in the
"automatic" mode, the operator is not required to manually calibrate the
speed of the feeder to match the press. As speed adjustments are made on
the NSF A3+, the speed of the Astro feeder is automatically adjusted.
Using the automatic mode, the feeder can be brought into operation much
easier, while waste and jams are significantly reduced.
Astro feeders that are attached to NSF A3+ presses must be modified
slightly from their original configuration. Once modified, the Astro
feeder can be attached and/or detached from the NSF A3+ in a couple of
minutes. No tools are required to attach or detach the feeder.
Once the Astro feeder has been installed on the NSF A3+, various size
envelopes can be fed at speeds up to 5,500 envelopes per hour. As the
Astro feeder is a top load, bottom feed feeder, the feeder will
continuously feed as long as the operator adds envelopes to the feeder
as required.
In addition to feeding envelopes, customers are using the Astro feeder
to feed various difficult to handle materials to the NSF A3+ press.
The combination of the NSF A3+ press and the Astro envelope feeder,
combined with the automatic mode interface, allows customers to produce
foil stamped envelopes with unmatched ease and productivity.
THERM-O-TYPE is now a dealer for the Astro feeder. This dealership
allows THERM-O-TYPE to purchase and modify the feeders, to install the
automatic interface on the NSF A3+, and to provide support to customers
operating the NSF A3+/Astro feeder combination.

feeders.
At the request of customers, THERM-O-TYPE has configured certain foil
press products to operate with a Kirk-Rudy or Astro feeder attached.
Currently, there are several customers who operate Kirk-Rudy and/or
Astro feeders inline with their THERM-O-TYPE foil stamping presses.
THERM-O-TYPE does not guaranty the performance of Kirk-Rudy and/or Astro
feeders or their suitability to handle customer supplied materials.
It is the sole responsibility of the customer to test the Kirk-Rudy
and/or Astro feeder before they are purchased to determine if one or
both of these feeders is suitable for their application and materials.
THERM-O-TYPE does not offer or imply technical support for these
products beyond the information necessary to attach the feeder to the
THERM-O-TYPE foil press.
