DIN (Die INsulating) material is
used to stop “spotting” caused by paper contact with heated, non-image
areas of the foil stamping/embossing die.
DIN is a 1/16” thick, self adhesive,
compressible, high temperature insulating material that is used to
create a physical and thermal barrier between non-image areas of foil
stamping/embossing dies and foil/paper.
Operators cut a piece of DIN
material to cover the problem area, peel off the high temperature
adhesive backer and stick the material to the die. The process is simple
and effective in almost all cases.
A 12” x 12” sheet of DIN material
sells for $52.50
