The foil fusing process can be used to produce a width range of
products. However, results will vary based on a wide range of factors.
- Foil fusing is not compatible with all types of paper.
- Foil fusing is not compatible with all types of toner.
- Foil fusing is not compatible with all types of toner based printers.
- Foil fusing is not compatible with any offset or ink jet inks.
If a customer has questions about the suitability of certain papers,
toners or printers, customers should send samples to THERM-O-TYPE for
testing (contact a sales representative for details).
While many customers run foil fused sheets back through a laser printer,
it is important to note that some printers may pick small pieces of foil
off the sheet. These particles may become deposited on parts within the
printer which would require additional maintenance to remove and/or
require replacement of the contaminated parts.
THERM-O-TYPE does not warranty the foil fusing process as being suitable
on all papers, all printers and all conditions when run through a laser
printer or copy machine in a second and/or third pass.
THERM-O-TYPE accepts no liability for damage and/or repairs to
customer's laser printer(s) and/or copy machine(s).
Sample foil fused materials, produced and distributed by THERM-O-TYPE,
that have been run through a laser printer or copy machine multiple
times, do not constitute a direct or implied endorsement of this
practice.
Customers are solely responsible for determining if their laser
printer(s) and/or copy machine(s) are suitable for multiple pass, foil
fusing applications.
