Process Description:
THERM-O-TYPE 20" wide thermography equipment is a modular thermography
machine, featuring electric heaters. Machine modules include: infeed
conveyor/powder module, heater module, and cooler module. Each module
has an independent variable speed conveyor drive with all controls
mounted in a single control panel.
Machine Specifications:
Heater Module: The heater module features an independent variable speed
conveyor, stainless steel conveyor chain, 1" diameter self-aligning
bearings mounted in cast iron housings with grease fittings, and large
diameter conveyor rollers. A "cleaning" roller is mounted below the
heater to remove dirt from the stainless steel conveyor chain.
The heater module is supported on four adjustable leveling feet. The
heater housing supports three, full width electric heater elements.
These elements are two inch thick ceramic fiber heaters. Each element is
independently controlled by an on/off switch and thermocouple
temperature control. Each heater housing provides 113" of heat tunnel
dwell and approx, 42,000 watts of heat (with a 440/480 volt power
supply). The heater housing may be raised or lowered as required using a
hydraulic lift mechanism.
Cooler Module:
The cooler module features an independent variable speed conveyor,
stainless steel conveyor chain, 1" diameter self-aligning bearings
mounted in cast iron housings with grease fittings, and large diameter
conveyor rollers.
Two blowers are mounted below the conveyor chain within the "vacuum
holddown" section of the cooler module.
Two blowers are mounted on the cooler box which directs air flow on the
sheet as it is conveyed through the cooler. Both cooler blowers are
equipped with filters.
The cooler conveyor can be turned on or off, and the speed can be
adjusted from the main control panel.
The cooler box may be raised or lowered as required using a hydraulic
lift mechanism.
A paper eject mechanism is mounted at the delivery end of the cooler
module. The paper eject mechanism accelerates and corrugates paper to
improve delivery. This is especially helpful when running longer sheets.
A receiving tray can be mounted to the cooler module. The receiving tray
angle can be adjusted. Adjustable paper side guides and a paper stop are
provided.
Powder Module:
The powder module features an independent variable speed control,
stainless steel intermediate conveyor chain, 1" diameter self-aligning
bearings mounted in cast iron housings with grease fittings, wide powder
application/removal belt, and large diameter conveyor rollers. The
infeed conveyor is powered from the powder module.
Powder module speed control and vibrator on/off switch are located on
the main control panel.
A removable, large capacity powder hopper features a micrometer adjusted
dual powder flow, single lever powder flow interrupt and drop gates to
restrict powder flow across select areas across the hopper.
The vacuum pickup head features large diameter "trackless" pickup
wheels. All pickup head bearings are pre-lubricated, sealed ball
bearings with exterior seals installed on both sides of each bearing to
protect against powder contamination.
There is a single point, operator side adjustment that allows the
operator to vary the space between the pickup head and the powder belt.
This adjustment assures even spacing adjustment across the pickup head
and controls the total amount of adjustment.
A restriction valve is installed in the powder vacuum system. This valve
allows the operator to adjust powder vacuum.
Main Control Panel:
ThermoTech20Pro Thermography Machine main control panel is mounted on
the Powder Module. This panel encases all the electrical control
components for all the modules.
