Zip-A3E Cutter Slitter with Air Feeder

The Zip Air Feeder is available as a retrofit on existing Zip-A3E and Zip-TS1 models, or as an option on these models when purchased. The new feeder offers a dramatic increase in productivity and eliminates most problems customers have feeding difficult to handle stocks through the standard friction feeder.

Customer requirements have changed significantly since the Zip-A3E and Zip-TS1 models were introduced. Many customers are now producing larger volumes of small quantity orders using common formats. These customers require a feeder that will allow them to process this workload more efficiently. Stock requirements have also changed with more work being produced on thicker papers and often with UV coating.

To meet changing customer requirements, THERM-O-TYPE has introduced the Zip Air Feeder using technologies developed and proven on our line of sheet fed foil stamping presses. We feel that the Zip Air Feeder is the best air feeder currently available on any programmable cutter/slitter.

The operator presses the "Single Sheet Feed" button on the touch screen control. A single sheet is fed and the computer calculates the correct feed rate based on the sheet length and crosscut program as the first sheet passes through the machine.

The operator then presses the "Feed" button on the touch screen control.

Sheets will feed one after the other with the lead edge of one sheet reaching the end of the alignment table just as the tail edge of the previous sheet clears this point. This ensures maximum productivity by minimizing the gap between sheets and eliminating any operator adjustment.

Feeding is stopped by pressing the "Stop" button on the touch screen control.

Advantages of the Zip Air Feeder option:
- Holds up to 13.5" stack of paper.
- Straight paper path. No "S" bend of paper as it passes through the feeder like on the friction feeder.
- Increased crosscut accuracy on difficult to run papers (thicker papers, single and two sided UV coated, etc.).

- Incorporates a double sheet detector that will stop the feeder if a double is detected.
